Do I need to know how to ride a bicycle?
Because electric bicycles handle similar to standard bikes, previous bicycle-riding knowledge is recommended. You should wear a helmet, ride safely and follow the rules of the road at all times.
How fast do electric bicycles go?
The maximum motor speed is 20mph with approximately 20 miles of unassisted range. (based on riders weight, path incline, etc.) BUT we also give you a secondary battery which doubles your range to approximately 40 miles, between charges. The unique "Power On Demand" feature allows you to use the motor, pedal or do both! "Pedal or glide"
What should I wear or what should I bring?
We recommend closed comfortable shoes or sneakers and be sure to bring your sunglasses or eye protection. After that it's up to you. We provide a pouch, which is attached to the bike, for your small belongings (camera, wallet, keys)
What is required to make a reservation?
You will need give us your name, your credit card, your ID, and your telephone number. We may ask for an email address to send your receipt. We do not accept prepaid credit cards.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel please call us 24 hours prior to the rental start date/time. Any cancellation within 24 hours will be subject to a FULL CHARGE. If your guests do not show up at their designated reservation time, more than 10 minutes the rental fee is non refundable. We reserve the right to skip your reservation to keep our schedule and return to you later in the day. We try to keep all our reservations on a timely schedule. Please do your best not to be late, as we also must accommodate every other reservation as well.
What kind of deposit do I need to rent a bike?
An authorization of $1000 per bike will be held on your card at time of rental against loss or damage. This is ONLY a hold, it is not a charge. A credit card and valid driver license or passport is required at time of rental. The delivery of bikes to and from your hotel is complimentary.
What if it rains?
We offer an opportunity to reschedule if you cancel prior to rental, due to rain. If you get caught in the rain the electric bike does handle like a standard bike if operated safely.
Do electric bikes require a license or registration?
No. The federal law treats electric bikes like standard bicycles. We provide safety helmets and traffic laws for bicyclists from the FDOT. Riders must be at least 16 years of age. Renters must be at least 18 years of age with a major credit card and photo ID. Riders under 18 years of age must be accompanied by parent or guardian.
If you, or any member of your party, do not meet these criteria you may lose your deposit or be charged the rental cost.
Are there height and weight requirements to rent an electric bike?
This activity is not recommended for guests under 5' 2" tall the bikes do not adjust to that height range. The maximum weight capacity is 300 lbs.
Do you provide helmets and locks?
Yes we do. We recommend that all riders wear a helmet. We urge all riders to lock each bike carefully when you are away from the bike. And be sure to take helmet and valuables with you. Helmets, locks and destination map are free with each rental. Each electric bicycle is equipped with a pouch to carry your small items.
What hotels do you deliver to?
We deliver rental bikes to hotels within the Greater Fort Lauderdale area. Outlying airport hotels may be available, please call to discuss. It is the customers responsibility to be at the correct location at the correct time as stated on their confirmation form. There are no refunds if you no show.
